Daegan Smith is one of my all time favorite mentors on having success in business. The way he teaches his methods is amazing, and its more of here is what you have to do, here are the steps to take, here is why it works, now go on and do it. And one of the teachings that really helped my business a lot is the first module in his maximum leverage course.

The first module gets you in the mindset of making it passed the first online pinnacle which is making your first thousand dollars online. Daegan Smith tells you here is how to get started, and you need to be committed to this if you want it to work. Well I took it to heart and what he was talking about was his free content marketing system. Basically methods that get you all the free stuff first like, free traffic, free leads, using free techniques.

Well I took this to heart and really decided that after four years of really just playing around online that I was going to take this business serious and implement Daegan Smith’s teachings. One of the things he told me was when you are implementing this strategy people are going to nag on you. Your friends are going to be wondering why your not around and hanging out as much, your girlfriend is going to be mad your on the computer all the time, and your family is going to think all kinds of things about you always being on the computer.

This was really hard for me because I was letting down my friends when they wanted me around, my family wondered why I was being such a stranger and not calling them, but the hardest part was neglecting my partner in life. I knew all of this was coming from Daegan Smith training, he let you know it was going to happen. So it turned into arguing, tears, thoughts of should I quit should I not quit, and really having to take a good look at my life.

The back story behind this was I spent the past 4 years trying to make this happen in network marketing and failed a lot of times. But most of it was because I was super part time in building my business. And through the past 4 years I promised a lot of things like trips, a new house, cars, freedom, quality of life, and experiences that we can have and share together. But all I had were a bunch of broken promises. And I really felt honestly that what I have recently learned from Daegan Smith that I can make good with all my promises and totally change my life.

So I had to turn things around and at the same time be there for my loved ones. What I did was prioritize my time and really get stuff done immediately. My girlfriend works everyday so during her time at work I would finish up all the things I needed to do for marketing and promoting, writing articles, posting on forums, pinging my blog, social bookmarking, spinning my articles and submitting them to directories. And the more I kept doing these each day I had a system where instead of taking hours and hours to complete these tasks I was done in like two hours.

Now I had all the time in the world to spend time with my family, and loved ones and still keep my business going. The trick was just focusing on what I needed to do, and not get distracted by going on facebook, checking email, chatting on MSN and Skype, and just clear my mind of everything thats bugging me, and get stuff done.

As commissions start rolling in along with the consistent leads, I look back and can still hear Daegan Smith say after you do this one thing and get through all the rough stuff, you will see that it was all worth it
