Traffic to your site is a good thing, it’s like people walking into your store, you have a chance to create a new customer and make some profit to keep your business going or scale up. In the online world of marketing, it’s so much the amount of traffic that you get that will make you successful, but more of the quality of your traffic.
Think about yourself as owning a steak house and you were getting a lot of people walking into your doors. To many they would think that your business was very profitable, but what if those people that were walking into your steak house were in fact vegetarians. It just so happens that you don’t sell salads, and all those people walking in your doors left just as fast as they walked in.
So it’s not all about getting tons of traffic to your site, but more about getting quality traffic to your site. To ensure your getting high quality traffic you must think smart about your marketing. The quality of traffic is based on your target market. You must answer who is your ideal customer for what it is you have to offer.
It would be very beneficial for you to make up a customer avatar for your product. A certain type of person in every detail who is most likely to buy your product or service. From this point you main focus is to get your customer avatar to your website. You do this by advertising in places your customer avatar hangs out or could be found.
Another way to reach your customer avatar is to write articles with keywords that your avatar would search for. Keyword research is crucial in your success for pay per click marketing, blogging, and article marketing. A keyword can determine you working hard or working smart. You must think outside the box when competing for keywords. Finding highly searched keywords with little competition is key.
One secret method in terms of keyword research would be to target things others would not think about. Things like expert names, books that your target market would read, product names that they would buy as well. Dig deep into other types of keywords you can use, more time spent on keyword research will give you more traffic then you can ever dream of, that is why working smart is so crucial.
I found that by targeting book titles of books I know my target market reads, my traffic has increased by over 300% in the first month of using this tactic. What I do is go out an purchase the book, read it and educate the books principles on what I have learned. This has created great response and a increase in leads for my business as well.
I also like to dominate a single keyword of a company name that no one is really competing on like 5 linx or any new MLM companies that are just in starting out or in the launch phase. The traffic is amazing and there is little to no competition.
