Just like any software program, the person who wrote the program had a vision on what they wanted he program to accomplish.

So the 2nd habit says to use your creativity and be proactive to write your own program. Steven Covey says to write out a mission statement for yourself in different areas of your life. The key points is to base your program on principles and your values of what you truly stand for. This is the metaphor he used to explain the 2nd habit from the 7 habits of highly effective people.
