It’s kind of crazy how life can change so quickly! With so many moments with our loved ones, how do we make the most of our time?
In this blog post, I’ll share about living in part time in North Battleford Sk and Central Alberta, while finding beauty everywhere, what’s been keeping me busy lately, and my future plans.
If you’re looking to appreciate life’s little moments and stay motivated through change, you’re in the right place! Join me as I reflect on my journey, exploring life and dealing with life’s challenges.
How Many Moments Do We Have Left With People?
If we only visit three times a year, that’s just three moments to connect, and that’s not enough! If we only have let’s say 5 more years to live, that means we only have 15 moments left with each other.

When my wife’s mom got sick, we ditched our routine in Alberta and moved so we could support them. It hit me hard—people can slip away when you least expect it. Caring and cherishing these fleeting moments, especially when it seems like we losing a lot of loved ones, is key to rolling with the changes life throws our way!
My Wife’s Mother Got Sick, We Picked Up Everything and Moved to Help Them Out
- Received the news about my wife’s mother
- Made the decision to move immediately
- Packed up our lives in record time
- Conquered the kitchen with traditional recipes
- Shared laughs and tears over family stories
- Grew closer as a family unit
Felt The Reality That We Can Lose Them Any Moment
You know, when I realized we can lose someone in a blink, it makes every moment a little more beautiful. One minute, we’re laughing over a game of cards, and the next, I’m clutching my phone like it’s my life jacket while scrolling through old emails and photos of my late brother Vernon.
Those memories are treasures, but they also remind me how important it is to cherish every laugh, every meal, and every silly story with family and friends. This is what makes us wealthy, the time we spend with the people we love.
That’s why we felt the absolutely need to move closer to home, or be closer more often.
This awareness pushes me to make every visit count. When I’m racing against time, I often think about how fleeting our time is, especially when we losing our family members. To truly honour those moments, I ensure I show my love, ask about their dreams, and share my own crazy adventures as an entrepreneur.
Life’s too short for bland conversations, right? So, let’s keep the spirit alive and make laughter our anthem while we still can! After all, our stories deserve to be told and retold, so why not make them epic?
I Guess We Live in a Bad Neighbourhood but It’s Been Beautiful
I don’t really know North Battleford much, but I guess we in a questionable area. Besides the odd gun shots that we hear and the odd racial glare, we make the most of our time here. Each night, my family and I dive into epic rounds of Monopoly Deal, where I somehow end up with none of the property—I swear they’re cheating! I also enjoy playing Kaiser with my parents, which usually ends in hilarious arguments over the rules.

Plus, with passes to the Field House, my kids and I are there every day, staying active and making memories. Let’s talk about how these experiences weave into our journey of storytelling and growth in Central Alberta, even as life keeps throwing us curveballs.
Playing Monopoly Deal With Family Each Night
At our house in North Battleford, a night of Monopoly Deal is like a family tradition—it’s entertaining, chaotic, and full of strategic mischief. I mean, who wouldn’t want to engage in a battle of wits while someone whispers about “sly deals” and “just say no cards”?
Sure, we live in what some might call a rough neighborhood, but our laughter echoes louder than any outside noise. Every draw and discard of cards turns into a hilarious debate, reminiscent of a wild car auctions. Seriously, sometimes I think we should just live-stream it—we could get famous for our epic fails and negotiating tactics!

These game nights are more than just casual fun; they’re educational in their own quirky way. My kids learn some serious strategy skills that might just outsmart their future teachers, all while I secretly plot my path to winning and sneakily snack on popcorn.
As we navigate the board, I remind them how important it is to embrace life’s changes, rolling with whatever life throws at us, much like how we adapt to new rules of the game and unexpected plot twists. Honestly, if we can survive a family Monopoly Deal showdown, we can handle anything, including those moments of tricky conversations about education and cultural heritage!
Playing Kaiser With Parents Are Fun Moments I Will Always Cherish
Playing Kaiser with my parents is like stepping into an Olympic event held right at home—it’s full of excitement, strategy, and just the right amount of playful arguing. With every flip of the cards, I feel like a risk-taking entrepreneur trying to navigate a budget while planning a surprise birthday for our kiddos!
My dad’s intense game face could win awards, while my mom squinting and throwing out casual comments about “what’s the trump” that just make everything a bit funnier. We’ve totally transformed our living room into a makeshift arena of laughter and competition.

These epic Kaiser battles keep my family connected and entertained, reminding us that despite our surroundings, life can still be beautiful. Each game brings lessons—not just about winning, but about enjoying the little moments and sharing memories that make life richer.
I swear, if we can handle the drama of scoring points in Kaiser, we can tackle any challenges life throws our way, one hilarious round at a time!
10 NO….Lets Go.
Got Passes to Field House and Kids and I Are There Everyday
Every day feels like an adventure as my kids and I dive into the Field House activities. With our passes, we’re practically VIPs—very important participants—at the community hub! It’s like a mini Olympics up in there, and who knew that the kids could turn running laps into an Olympic sport? Plus, it provides a great chance for us to share our indigenous language, making it fun to yell out commands while hunting for the elusive basketball.
Join in the excitement with us, and you might just find yourself chasing some serious fitness goals!

It feels good to have this place here while we are in Saskatchewan, and makes me think why I didn’t join the field house in Alberta. We make our way back to Alberta at least 1-2 weeks out of the month to do our work, so that is the plan when we head back.
Taking part in fun activities helps us show the kids that community thrives on joy and togetherness, no matter where we live. So if you ever spot a family of enthusiastic athletes (or should I say “enthusiasts”) tumbling around, yeah, that’s us! Come join the fun, and you might learn a thing or two about keeping your sense of humour intact while navigating life’s curves.
Here is Whats Been Keeping Me Busy
Life may have thrown some curveballs, but I’m rolling with it! Working from home makes juggling my crypto investing, online marketing sales, and daily blogging and Youtubing a breeze. With powwow season around the corner, I’m squeezing in workouts, writing grants for my business and freelancing, and trying to keep my password game strong—especially when it comes to navigating this wild ride from the south to Ontario!
I Work From Home So Makes Things Easier
Working from home has turned my space into a multitasking wonderland—who knew I’d be a professional juggler? I pop on my laptop one minute, then transition into a cooking show host the next. It’s like I’m producing my own reality series, where I’m both the star and the underappreciated crew member.

Juggling online marketing, crypto investing, and my daily dose of blogging all from my cozy corner means I can optimize my time while snacking on homemade goodies. Talk about efficiency.
Plus, I can attend virtual meetings in my pajama pants while sharing my latest investment tips. It’s like I’m living the dream, only without the fancy office coffee. I can roll right from a productive work session to wrestling with my kids without missing a beat, keeping my focus on life and family despite the curveballs that come our way. Embracing this work-from-home lifestyle? Let’s just say I’ve become an expert at combining work and family time while dancing through the chaos with a smile!
Crypto Investing is Taking Off Like Wildfire
Crypto investing is really taking off like wildfire, and trust me, I’m right there in the flames! With the power of online platforms at our fingertips, buying and trading cryptocurrencies has never been easier. I’ve turned from a regular guy into a bit of a crypto guru, sitting at my kitchen table like a modern-day Wall Street wizard trying to figure out which altcoin is my new best friend.

Every day is a new adventure in the crypto universe, filled with ups, downs, and more drama than a soap opera! I watch market trends closely, jotting down notes while trying not to spill my coffee on my laptop. It’s all about timing and some good old-fashioned research. I even share my insights on social media, hoping to help others navigate this wild ride while keeping a sense of humor about it:
Online Marketing Sales are Daily
Online marketing sales have become part of my daily routine—and let me tell you, it’s like trying to catch a greased pig! Each day, I enthusiastically dive into social media platforms, writing posts and designing ads that draw in the crowds. I’ve learned that engaging content is key; nobody wants to read boring stuff! Plus, every click feels like a mini victory, making my morning coffee taste like a winning brew!

With so many online tools available, I feel like I’ve unlocked a treasure chest of opportunities. It’s all about finding your niche and connecting with the right audience. I often test out new strategies, using data from my sales to adjust my game plan. If I can turn my passions into profits while dodging distractions (like those kids trying to sneak cookies), then I know I’m rolling with the changes life throws my way!
Here is me hustling for the week.

Working Out for Upcoming Powwow Season
As powwow season approaches, I’m in full training mode, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride! Imagine me doing jumping jacks in the kitchen while microwaving dinner—multitasking at its finest. I’m packing in cardio, strength training, and some serious dance practice, all in the hopes of dazzling the crowd. Plus, nothing says “ready for powwow season” like a combo of squats and sharp dance moves that might just give the kids a run for their money!

(wishing this was me lol)
Every workout feels like I’m gearing up for the ultimate performance, and trust me, I’m ready to impress—or at least not trip over my own feet! I’ve pulled out all the stops, from traditional dance videos to impromptu backyard sessions with the family.
It’s not just about the dance; I’m teaching them that getting fit can be fun! Who knew working out could come with so much laughter and questionable dance moves? At the end of the day, it’s all about rolling with life’s changes and making the most of every moment together!
Writing Grants for My Business and Freelancing
Writing grants for my business feels like crafting the ultimate love letter—one that has to woo funding organizations while avoiding any awkward phrases! I get to channel my inner persuasive genius, making sure every dot and comma sings the praises of my dreams and ambitions. The process can be wild, filled with research, budget balancing, and caffeine-fueled brainstorming. I always remind myself, “If I can convince my family why my dancing skills need funding, I can handle this!”

Freelancing adds another layer that keeps my creativity flowing like a river! It’s a balancing act where I find jobs that let me showcase my talents while connecting with other awesome folks. Crafting proposals is all about selling myself—like trading snacks in the schoolyard, but with more paperwork! I tackle projects that allow me to spread the word about my culture while chasing dreams and keeping the family fed. Trust me, if I can pitch my way to success one grant at a time, so can you!
Blogging Daily and Youtubing Daily
Every day, I dive into blogging and YouTubing, which is like juggling flaming torches—if the torches were my children trying to sneak in snacks! I share my adventures in online marketing, crypto insights, and all things quirky about being a Cree family man.
My goal is to connect with others and sprinkle a little humour into their lives while staying true to my roots and passions. Trust me, it’s a wild ride, but keeping it consistent has helped grow a community that I absolutely love!

Creating daily content has its challenges—like finding the right angle for the camera without capturing my messy kitchen! Every blog post and video becomes a chance to share my journey, whether it’s about adapting to life changes or watching my crypto account drop by $17,000 in a day. To keep things engaging for my audience, I focus on relatable stories to connect with folks who might feel overwhelmed or just need a chuckle.
Here’s the story of my blogging and YouTubing life:
- Daily blogging about life changes and lessons learned.
- YouTubing my adventures in online marketing and crypto investing.
- Creating content that connects and entertains.
- Sharing powwow videos and livestreams.
- Building a community that celebrates our shared experiences.
Future Plans I’ve Been Working On
So, here’s what I’ve been up to lately. I’m expanding my Cree Program by applying for grants and fine-tuning my ad spending. Plus, I’m working on a UFC-style powwow—yes, really! I’m also eyeing a house for my in-laws in a safer neighborhood and dreaming big with plans for a Men’s Fancy Masterclass. Oh, and let’s not forget about snagging another property by year-end! Each project is a step toward navigating these changes with style and a smile!
Expanding Cree Program – Applying For Grants and Adjusting Ad Spend
To expand my Cree Program, I’m diving headfirst into the world of grant applications. It’s like throwing a spaghetti noodle at the wall and hoping it sticks, but hey, with enough determination (and coffee), I believe we can make this happen! By researching available funding options, I’ve started crafting proposals that showcase the program’s value. It’s all about telling our story and convincing others that investing in Indigenous culture is the real deal!

Adjusting my ad spending for this endeavor feels like that moment when you realize your phone bill is double what you thought. I’m being strategic and targeting audiences who really care about Indigenous education and community growth. This way, my budget goes further, and we can reach more people. The more connections we make, the more support we can gather—definitely worth the hustle:
- Research grant opportunities for the Cree Program.
- Craft compelling proposals to attract funding.
- Adjust ad spending to target the right audience.
- Gather community support for a broader impact.
- Keep the excitement alive while navigating the details!
Working on a UFC Style Powwow
So here I am, mixing things up by planning a UFC-style powwow, and trust me, it’s going to be a game-changer! Imagine colorful regalia flying around as dancers go head-to-head in a friendly competition—not unlike a wrestling match but with way more feathers and drumbeats. It’s my way of bringing fresh energy to our traditional celebrations, blending the excitement of mixed martial arts with the beauty of our culture, all while keeping it light and fun!

This unique event is not just about the competition; it’s about creating a space where our community can come together to share laughter and joy while honouring our heritage. Think of it as a sports day combined with a powwow—a chance for everyone to participate and showcase their skills in a spirited environment.
As we roll with life’s changes, this UFC-style powwow aims to connect our traditions with a bit of modern flair, all while serving up some serious fun for the whole family!
Buy a House of In-Laws in Safer Neighbourhood
So, my next big plan is to buy a house for my in-laws in a safer neighborhood. I mean, nothing says “family bonding” like knowing they’re living in a safe place. A place where we can all gather for family events and a space for us to stay there when we need to with them. We are looking to find a new place for them quick, like within the next 3 months or even sooner.

We’ve started scouting locations close to my dads reservation so he can be close to his relatives. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where they can grill in peace without worrying about the squirrels stealing their burgers.
Making this move isn’t just about the house; it’s about creating a cozy haven where family can gather and share more moments without dodging any uncertainties. Who knew adulting involved so much property management while keeping an eye out on the housing market prices!
Create Men’s Fancy Masterclass
So, here I am, excited to kick off a Men’s Fancy Masterclass—a chance for us to strut our stuff and showcase our moves! Picture a gathering where guys can learn the fancy dance, swap stories, and maybe even embarrass ourselves a little with our not-so-smooth transitions. It’s all about building confidence while having a chuckle and connecting with our roots, and who doesn’t need some new skills to pull off at the next powwow?
This masterclass isn’t just about the dance steps; it’s about fostering a brotherhood while celebrating our culture. I plan to create an atmosphere where sharing is encouraged, and laughter is mandatory—like crafting a community that teaches one another how to keep the beat, perfect the regalia, and have fun while doing it!
By the end, attendees won’t just leave with new moves; they’ll walk away feeling a little more connected and a little more fabulous.
Buy Another Property at End of Year
As I wrap up the year, I’m on a mission to buy another property—we like the idea of a family compound with multiple tiny homes. We would love our own water capture, solar, chicken coup, our dog running around, and living more off the land!

This is probably where we will spend most of our time, so we will go all out with this one. This is more for the end of the year kind of planning.
Each step in this journey reminds me that no matter how life shifts, I’m determined to land on my feet—hopefully in a cozy living room where everyone can kick back without worrying about squirrels raiding the backyard barbecue!
Conclusion
Life has thrown us curveballs, but embracing change strengthens our bonds and enriches our experiences. Whether it’s cherishing fleeting moments with family or juggling various responsibilities, we adapt and flourish together.
Each game night, family gathering, and dance practice teaches us that laughter and love create lasting memories. By rolling with life’s shifts, we cultivate resilience and celebrate our vibrant culture, reminding us that every moment counts.
